Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Rokku Studio ("we", "us") governing your use of the Mojiru mobile application and related services (the "App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This licence is for your own personal, non-commercial language-learning use.
You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except where the law permits
- Use the App in any unlawful way or to infringe the rights of others
3. Mojiru Pro subscription
The App offers an optional auto-renewable subscription, Mojiru Pro, that unlocks the full content library and features. The following terms apply:
- Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Plans: Mojiru Pro is offered as monthly, yearly, or one-time (lifetime) options. The billed price and period are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
- Auto-renewal: Monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew for the same period at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Free trial: If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the displayed price when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial.
- Managing & cancelling: You manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: Purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests are subject to Apple's policies via reportaproblem.apple.com.
4. Your account
Creating an account is optional and used only to back up and sync your study progress. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account and its synced data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account in the App. Account handling is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Content and intellectual property
The App, its design, and original content are owned by Rokku Studio and protected by intellectual-property laws. Some language data is derived from open dictionary projects (including JMdict, KANJIDIC, and KanjiVG) and is used under their respective licences; those rights remain with their authors.
6. Educational purpose & no warranty
Mojiru is an educational tool. We do not guarantee that using the App will result in passing the JLPT or achieving any particular outcome. The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rokku Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Rokku Studio is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer.
